Musings
10/15/2026 Well? The festival season is pretty much done for the year. Time to look at indoor events and other things simmering that need to be stirred. I will be writing all winter, off course. Unless there's an unscheduled road trip. Which will, of course, end up here. Which brings me to the 'family'. If you follow my musings, you will gradually come to realize that I have an extended 'rock and roll' family. Some people are peripheral, distant cousins showing up in the mix of things but rarely. Others are front and center. Chronically in the mix and maelstrom of this dynamic. Some have been around forever, others are newer, still others are new, the 'faithful in training...' A few are still 'out in the black' as I refer to them. Hope to bring them 'home' finally in the next year or so. They are missed, and they need to be back in the circle. At any rate...stay tuned to the 'photo' page...lots to happen soon. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 10/12/2026 "He wooed her, he wed her, but he did not worship her." -from Victoria's Garden xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 10/04/2026 So it's been 9 days since I arrived. It's been an adventure. We've had our 'Hunter S. Thompson' moments, Emma raised the bar for bizarre entries on Thursday...er...Friday morning...more later. There were exclamations of dog bites, personal items tossed from a moving car, and excessive amounts of Adderall intake by her host at the other lodging. Her hair was completely exploded and she was...chaotic. Anyway. She is staying elsewhere as the week winds down as our flights go early and late respectively. The life of a festival bartender. Lita was sublime. We have always been good that way. She and I will be doing a lot more together now. Mona. Met her at the venue. She is an absolute queen. 8 kids. 17 grandkids. Doesn't look a day over 45. She has the vision and prescience to rule a small country if she wanted to. Pic over on the Aftershock 2026 page. Destinae. We found each other in VIP. It had been a year. She was less goth this but has those stunning eyes that hold a universe. She has triggered an Alfred Mars rock and roll vampire novel. Pic over in Aftershock 2026. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 10/01/2026 To be a muse... Is to be immortalized. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/28/2026 'There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.' -Ernest Hemingway xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/27/26 Miss Lita rolled into Sacramento yesterday for the day. A lot of history between the two of us, although she and I were never actually a 'couple'. We spent most of the day together, and the more we drilled down, the more memories of why we are so bonded continued to rise. Things we endured ranging from recovering missing guitars to finding the apartment she shared with me to realizing that in our blackout of losing one another for so many years, we had actually probably passed each other at arm's length in certain places but were focused on other things. We discovered just how much you file away in your mind and forget about over time. Then, the merest thing will suddenly cause a wellspring of stuff to come flooding back. We are VERY close, and we have come to terms on not losing sight of one another in the media world again and having a lot more adventures together. Planning on seeing her again later this week, we'll take some decent pictures. She and I ate healthy all day. Then...she seduced me. With chocolate. And I took a bite. Dark chocolate, cashews and caramel. Harlot... (lol) Lita has been and continues to be, one of the women who has most influenced my adult life. (Although it is arguable that I have never actually become an adult.) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/26/26 Perspective: I was the student yesterday. My teacher was in her late 20s, early 30s. A flight attendant based out of Dallas. She appeared on the leg from Chicago to Sacramento. I could have narrowed my eyes to where things were a blur. She would have been in a bubble...like Glinda in the Wizard of Oz. Floating around the space just waving her wand and things just happening. Ya. I know that in this reality, it doesn't APPEAR that way. Yet...there she was. She moved with that aura/personality type that I've encountered only once before. The first time I encountered it, it overwhelmed me. Another conversation. She was total Zen despite the surrounding challenges of the gig and the environment she was performing it in. I mentioned it to her in passing as she moved up and down the aisle. She paused in her motion and looked hard at me. Then I got THE smile. The coy, yet eyes wide open one. That one where a woman reveals that her magic...the REAL her...is right there in the open but is completely unseen. The look lingered as she fluttered her lashes, and she thanked me for seeing it. Then continued in her momentary quest. Later we had a chance to talk in the galley, and spoke of a few different things. I asked her about her aura, and she didn't even think about it. The answer, she said, is to just be happy. It takes less effort to be happy, less energy, to be happy than it does do be angry. And anger radiates. It reaches others. No one needs to be in an angry world. It was a simple, yet extremely nuanced answer at the same time. Conditions were such that we couldn't expound on it. She gave me the side look that said, 'I SEE you. I know who you are. Come on, you KNEW that. Write it down.' There was WAY more going on there. Both seen and unseen. I will probably never see her again, yet she will remain one of those people one encounters on the journey that remains a light that just somehow never fades in the rearview mirror. She was an 'a-ha' moment, exquisitely presented. I hope those that she keeps in her life always know and appreciate her for who and what she is. I wish her nothing in her life but the same joy and radiance she exudes to all around her... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/20/26 "You must stay drunk on writing, So reality does not destroy you." -Ray Bradbury xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/18/26 This upcoming trip to California will be a different kind of adventure. I haven't traveled solo for a while, one trip out of Hollywood-Burbank, I was 'adopted' by the amazing Anney, for the trip. American Airlines fucked up when they furloughed her. AA wake up! My PA, Claire was on that trip but trapped in coach. So, it will be an interesting trip but once I'm there, I will be taken in hand by Lita and, oddly enough, Emma. She will keep my hair untangled and make sure I'm not carried off by some succubus. Emma works the festival circuit as a high-powered bartender, so we're often at the same festivals. I have met some amazing people in this segment of my life, and in this slice of the pie, people are fantastic and wonderful for the most part. More to come... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 9/17/26 'The World's a Mess. It's in My Kiss.' -Exene Cervanka of 'X'. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It's a BIG event. There will be a lot of people-watching, a lot of stories unfolding right before my very eyes. I'll be buried in thoughts and will be married to the keyboard this winter. In the meantime, 'Some Kind of Addiction...' Book One, will drop DURING Aftershock... Formal breakout is in the first full week of October, And I have an interview coming out later in the month on Amazon Prime. 'Some Kind of Addiction...' Book TWO, should drop before this Christmas if all goes right. Book ONE covers just under 5 months of Alex and Genevieve, Book TWO will cover the next 12 months of the relationship. Book TWO promises more intensity than even Book ONE. The end of Book TWO will actually demand a third and final book. More musings to come..
